Reset for the new year…

I’ve been off the radar for about a year or so. I’ve been somewhat disheartened and unmotivated. I’m out to change that for the new year. I’ve lit a figurative fire under my rear and I’m ready to get back in the saddle. I’ve never stopped reading, I basically have a book IV inserted. I never leave home without a book, even if I know I won’t have time to read it. Its my safety blanket because SOMETHING could happen.
My good friend Kara from my 101 Things in 1001 Days group, also a fellow reader, turned me onto a new blog called A Novel Challenge. Oooh, it’s a treasure trove of book challenges and made me sit up and go hell yeah, let’s get started. I might have gone a smidge over board, but I’m a voracious reader. Here are my book challenges for the New Year from January 1 – December 31.
Anne Rice Challenge I’m shooting for the Lestat de Lioncourt level which is 6-10 books. I have on my 101 Things list to reread the Vampire Chronicles so this tied in perfectly.

Library Book Challenge I’m doing the Insert the IV level which is 50+. I practically live at the library. It is the community’s greatest resource and I make full use of it. The world’s greatest invention is of course the online catalogue!

Bucket List Book Challenge I’m shooting for the committed level which is 12 books. This ties in perfect with my 1001 Book list and I made a goal on my 101 List to read 200 books off the list to get back in gear. This will get me started.

Embarrassment of Riches I’m heading for the Bronze level with 12. These are books that you’ve owned prior to 2013 and have never read. Well, isn’t my face red, but I fit quite well here. Though I’ve read a majority of my books. I have a big box full of books that are on my 1001 Book list so this will work out quite well.

I love a challenge and a reading challenge gets my blood pumping so expect to see me off and running. I hope that getting on track with my reading goals will get me motivated on the rest of the goals on my 101 Things list. This is the worst I’ve done and I’m pretty bummed.

I probably will not post until after the new year with any results. Now to figure out a way to keep track, I’m old school and a notebook and pen will be my method. I love making lists! my next post I will break down the challenges further and propose the books for each challenge.
Welcome back to the blog and challenge, I said to myself and anyone reading!!
