1010 Things in 1001 Days May Update

Sad news, there’s not much to report. I have goals working but nothing accomplished. This just will not do.

I volunteered for my first USO breakfast at the Navy base. So I have one of three volunteers done. I also have a June breakfast and maybe a homecoming so I should get this done fairly soon.

I put up 4 quarts of spaghetti sauce, so I’m getting more proficient with my canning. I also purchased a pressure canner, now to take it out of the box and use it! I’ve been hearing on my canning groups that they aren’t scary and are in fact pretty simple to use. Now to put my big girl panties on and see for myself!

I have the garden in at my parent’s, now to get mine in here at my house. I will be doing that in a few days.

The sewing machine is on hold until I can get my mother in law to show me how to thread the bobbin.

I’m becoming more frugal by cooking from scratch more and making meals that we would buy prepackaged myself. I’ve recently rediscovered Gordon’s Food Service, oh how I love that store!

I’m becoming more green by re purposing things. Like my dryer lint and dryer sheets are being used for a woman’s crafts and the lint my brother in law is using it for insulation. Less waste! Yipee!

I want to start composting, but I’m not sure where to begin so I will need to research that one a bit.

All I know is that I need to get the lead out, but some of my goals call for cash and that’s not readily available at the moment. So I will do what I can and keep you all updated.
